About the challenge

What is the challenge?

The challenge encourages you to move more and sit less. Modern life often requires us to sit for long periods of time. As a participant you should aim to include physical activity into your daily routine.

The challenge is to do 30 minutes or more of planned physical activity every day, for 30 consecutive days.

Is there a leaderboard?

Yes, the Well 1-2-1 app contains a leaderboard showing the top 10 participants (based on the total number of minutes of physical activity recorded).

You can join or leave the leaderboard anytime you wish, simply go to “Groups” and press “join’ or ‘leave”

The leaderboard works on an opt-in basis, meaning that unless you choose to join the leaderboard your total will not be displayed.

Do I need to be fit to take part?

No, there is no minimum level of fitness required as the recommended intensity level is low to medium.

Should people be encouraged to buddy up?

We know from past challenges that finding an exercise buddy or team of people is the best motivation. Group exercise sessions or chat rooms during the event would be great to set up in your organisation.

What type of physical activity counts?

Participants can choose activities that they enjoy. As long as it raises their heart rate, and makes them breathe faster and feel warmer.

Example activities:

  • Brisk walking
  • Home workouts
  • Cycling
  • Gardening
  • Dancing
