Wellbeing4business Ltd began work with GCC began with an OH and Wellbeing Audit presented in January 2009. The project saved a total of £86,953 or 23% of original budget. Further savings were also made by reducing demand for counseling and reduced Dr days. The council also began to charge for services better to external clients with the development of a pricing model. The project saved money and introduced a vast amount of transformation in little over 12 weeks work. All work was delivered to schedule. We developed a suite of communication material to launch the programme.
“This piece of work was extremely helpful as it offered us an independent, expert view of our occupational health. This insight simply would not have been available to us in-house. The report was a thorough review of our service and gave us a clear set of recommendations as to the way ahead. We were happy to engage Wellbeing4business to help us implement a range of new/improved OH process. The new processes and clinical governance arrangements helped us address efficiency issues and greatly increased our assurance that we were operating within good practice guidelines. Your understanding of OH systems and processes was great help in improving the quality of management information and data recording. You were able to offer us a combination of medical expertise and OH business acumen that allowed us to make significant improvements to our service. We would be happy to work with you again.” Rodney Semple, Business Efficiency Manager, Business Management Directorate, Gloucestershire County Council, May 2010 – See more at:

Our work with Kings College Hospital enabled us to reduce costs on OH by £500,000, redevelop a more visible and efficient service and introduce new concepts such as a vocational rehabilitation service and overall wellbeing strategy. We recruited a physio and fitness coach to provide a fast track musculoskeletal programme. We have launched numerous organisational challenges. In 2011 we successfully merged the trusts OH service with the South London and Maudsley.
“Staff absence at King’s was already well managed when Wellbeing4business highlighted just where our processes, administration, efficiency and most importantly our service to the Trust could be enhanced. The transformation is supported by a new ‘employee assistance programme’ and has coincided with a move to ‘fit for purpose’ accommodation. The new service was officially launched in October 2010 by Dame Carol Black. The service has improved visibility within the Trust and the team is enthusiastic about their role in enhancing the quality of patient care”. — Angela Huxham, Director if Workforce Development.
