Weight loss challenge

Keeping to a healthy weight and being more physically active will help you feel stronger, give you more energy and boost your self-esteem. Being a healthy weight reduces the risk of conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

NHS guidelines recommend that any weight loss plan should be are based on a healthy, balanced diet, encourage regular physical activity and expect you to lose no more than 0.5-1kg (1-2lb) a week.

The challenge aims to help reduce weight, specifically targeting ‘apple shaped’ people already known to be running the greatest risk of developing ill health or disease in future. We do not advocate strange diets and advise participants to follow standard healthy eating guidelines and moderate exercise.

Using our WELL 121 app participants track:

  • weight
  • minutes of exercise
  • nutrition
  • hydration

Weight loss is then tracked across all participants in our leaderboard.
